Two scenarios
Which of the two we install depends on what your site already has. Both are funded and operated by Alchemy.
You already produce raw biogas
Common in distilleries and on any site already digesting effluent. The gas is often flared or under-used. Alchemy installs upgradation and compression only — the shortest route from an existing stream to a saleable product.
You have organic waste, but no digester
Press mud, litter, sludge, process residue. Alchemy installs both the digester and the upgradation train, and takes the whole stream off your hands as an input rather than a disposal cost.
What could your site produce?
Two inputs — your industry, and either the organic waste you produce or the raw biogas you already have. Every output is a range, because a single number would imply a precision nobody has yet.
Enter a figure and the indicative output appears here — CBG, fermented organic manure, emissions avoided, and the revenue share your facility would take.
Public-literature ranges for anaerobic digestion and biogas upgradation. These are NOT Alchemy figures and are not a quotation. Every result is indicative and subject to a feasibility study.
| Feedstock | CBG, kg per tonne | FOM, t per tonne | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press mud | 14–20 | 0.24–0.32 | Sugar-mill filter cake. High solids, well characterised in AD literature. |
| Spent wash (via raw biogas) | 6–10 | 0.02–0.06 | Liquid stream; most of the value arrives as raw biogas rather than as tonnage. |
| Starch / tapioca residue | 18–28 | 0.15–0.25 | Wide range — depends heavily on solids content. |
| Poultry litter | 22–34 | 0.3–0.4 | High nitrogen; blending is usually required. |
| Paper & pulp sludge | 8–16 | 0.2–0.3 | Lignin-rich, so yields sit at the low end. |
| Mixed organic waste | 12–24 | 0.2–0.3 | A deliberately wide band until the stream is characterised. |
- Raw biogas to CBG: 0.36–0.44 kg per Nm³, assuming 55–65% CH₄ in the raw gas, upgraded to ~96%.
- Emissions avoided: 2.4–3 tCO₂ per tonne of CBG, displacing fossil CNG.
- Revenue share: 8–15% to the facility under the zero-capex model.
- Replaceable in one file —
src/lib/factors.ts. When Alchemy's engineering supplies its own factors, nothing else changes.
